Learning Between Coffee and AI

Education in the Year 2041

In the increasingly fast-moving world of tomorrow, learning becomes a lifelong task. Boundaries between educational areas will be the same as the boundaries between work, education, and training. Training, in particular, will not take place alongside, but at fixed times, in fixed rooms, as an integral part of everyday working life. Digital learning programs will play a central role in this. They'll enable individualized learning as class structures and frontal education in schools are eliminated by the middle of the 21st century. As paradoxical as it sounds, the "mechanization of knowledge transfer" will enhance schools as places of social interaction, which will be reflected in their organization as so-called sub-schools. Adult education centers will also experience a revival as a local educational stronghold. As for skilled worker training, Germany will continue to focus on dual training. A career image of the future could be that of the neuro-controller, who manages complex production processes by virtue of his thoughts and is supported by virtual assistants via neuro-interfaces. Whether it actually gets that far is to be seen. It will certainly be interesting to see how much of this science fiction becomes reality.
